Former Sunshine Stars assistant coach, Akin Olowookere, has
expressed readiness to for the task of taking Sunshine Stars out of the woods.
Olowookere, a member of Austin Eguavoen’s backroom staff was
recently elevated to the position of interim coach following the sudden exit of
the former Super Eagles captain and coach.
“I want to return the team to winning ways and move out of
relegation zone. We can get something at Kano Pillars,” the former junior
international said to naijaleaguez.com.ng
Olowookere begins his attempt to turn around the fortunes of
the club with a tricky road trip at Kano Pillars on match day 24.
After his playing career at defunct Water Corporation
(Ondo), NNB (Benin-City) and First Bank (Lagos) and Sunshine Stars, the
Accountancy graduate of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, switched to
coaching at Sunshine Stars as a member of the club’s backroom staff under the
legendary Kadiri Ikhana.
