
naijaleague.com.ng can reveal that Czech First League side,
FC Slovan Liberec, is interested in making Ubong Ekpai’s season loan deal
permanent.
Ekpai, who joined Israeli outfit, Maccabi Haifa, from Akwa
United, last year, was sent on loan at Slovan Liberec, which campaigned in the
Uefa Europa League.
An impressive campaign in Europe and the domestic Czech
League by the Nigerian has attracted the attention of the club’s hierarchy, who
are believe he can boost their squad.
“Liberec want him to stay, but they have to do more to keep
him”, a source close to the player told naijaleague.com.ng.
Liberec finished
bottom of the Group J in their Europa League debut that including Italy’s
Fiorentina, Greece’s PAOK and Qarabag from Azerbaijan.
Ekpai recently returned to his base for the second round of
the season.
